NY Giants Ticker Tape Parade
February 5th, 2008 |
take day off from work to go to the Giants ticker tape parade, my first ticker tape parade ever, wake up at 5am, drive to Staten Island, no much traffic until near the Verrazano, take the ferry, walk from ferry to Broadway between Rector and Exchange Place, wait over three hours for parade to start, by 10am it was crowded and people started throwing paper, toilet paper wars between each side of the street, random chants, “18 and 1″, “Let’s go Giants”, “Boston sucks”, “Brady sucks”, “Your side sucks”, “MVP”, “Eli Manning”, “Who needs Tiki”, “Michael Strahan”, “Eagles suck”, “NYC”, to Steve Spagnuolo, “One more year”, “Don’t Go” and “Redskins suck”, so much paper everywhere, parade over by 1pm, I skipped City Hall, too crowded, I was so tired, had to go home, skipped Giants Stadium rally, went straight home, ate a quick lunch at home, passed out

We Found a Church!
November 11th, 2007 |
Today we visited a non-Catholic church that we liked to see if we could have our wedding there. Crystal doesn’t like to go to church, but she was surprised to see how things went at this church compared to the church she is used to going to with her parents when she was younger. I was surprised to see how similar worship was to the Catholic style. After the 11am sanctuary, we spoke with one of the pastors to discuss the possibility of having our wedding at the church. Crystal and I were surprised again to how easy and smooth it was. The pastor was very flexible and did not pressure us at all. After all was said and done, we signed up for the church for our wedding date. We were so happy to know that we now have the biggest things out of the way and booked (the reception hall and church). Now we have lots of other things to book (photographer, flowers, save the dates, invitations, etc.). After going to the church, meeting with the pastor and signing up for our wedding, we headed over to the Centerton Shopping Center. First stop was Pet Smart to look at the kitty cats. Crystal loves cats and so do I, but I’m highly allergic to them. She picked up some information on how to volunteer at Pet Smart to take care of the cats. There were a few kittens and a whole bunch of little doggies getting groomed and waiting to get groomed in the back near the grooming area. We were getting really hungry so we got some lunch at Panera Bread. As usual, they had some samples they were giving away, but this time it wasn’t your regular old bread. This time it was shortbread cookies. We both got a soup and salad combo. …5 Below, Hallmark, relax, laundry, parents, Chinese food, Giant lose, stupid penalties
